You should be able to get there (or at least close) on the Vantage. People are going over 4 on stock cooling. It's a joke to overclock. 1. Up the multiplier 2. Up the voltage to where it needs to go 3. Run Intel Burn Test 4. Run Prime95 5. Return to step 2 if unstable 6. ??? 7. Profit!!! Quote wtf is lolcats? I'd def get a fat hooker if i had to resort to that kinda thing. I feel like they'd be grateful and work harder. Also its more bang for my buck, more real estate for my dollar if you catch my drift. its like the Costco of streetwalkers. I was hoping for 150 . meade916 Posted September 29, 2011 Author Report Share Posted September 29, 2011 nerd. really who builds computers. ill tell you a cool ass story. back in 07, i got a HUGE ASS bonus at work one year and also finished up one of chickens rides the same week.....i had SCRILL. I said "F" it and bought the sickest Alienware you could buy (at the time) because i didnt feel like building, i just wanted it ready to go for a change. i never heard the end of it from the nerd community lol......and the Alienware is no longer an aAlienware. I still have it but its an SMD with an Alienware case. Its got all new mainboard, ram, GTX285 cards in SLI........the whole nine yards. Even the power supply. Not one thing is the same. Its still got an Alienware case though so the nerds still wont let me live it down haha. at least now i have two WORTHY setups......but this one is by far my best. I recently did a build somewhat similar to this, but used 16gb of GSkill DDR3 and was very impressed with how far it let me push it. Where you get that H2O cooling kit? Anyways, lets get some benchmark #s! beat2deth Posted September 29, 2011 Report Share Posted September 29, 2011 just a generic wireless keyboard/mouse? come on now, steve. lol edit - rest of the build looks amazing actually im going to steal the one from my other "gaming rig" since i like it better and swap this one over to that one. I actually have always liked Logitech wireless keyboard/mouse combo's so this one isnt bad for $8O im not knockin it for everyday regular use. but for a more srs gaming use(depending on the genre of game), you just wont see as much benefit from generic wireless. what with response times, ghosting, sensitivity, etc. but im assuming you'll be gaming ofc, and i think we both know what happens when one assumes Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Even the net seems faster for some reason. what benchmarking programs are the best these days? It was "3dmark". I will be putting COD black ops PC on it and Crysis right away tonight. I will update on how it does later oh and notice the wiring? this CASE RULES!!! Rubber grommits all over the place. I ran everything out of it and only what i needed back into it and then everything is hidden by the other side-door. Super clean! oh to answer your question, i got everything at Fry's. Maxim Posted September 29, 2011 Report Share Posted September 29, 2011 3DMark 11 is the latest for DirectX 11. a few peeps still run 3DMark 06 and 3DMark Vantage for DX 9 and 10. Also, the Unigine Heaven Benchmark (I think it's on 2.5 now) is a great one to test higher-end cards with it's heavy tessellation. You won't have issues with 2 580's.
