Just getting into systems

so i just got a 95 jeep grand cherokee like a week ago.

for the first few days i did the little things to fix it up like paint the bumpers, tint the tailights, clean it out, get new rugs/sterring wheel cover/seat covers/air freshner ect lol

but....i got bored fast

ive been watchin steve meade's tahoe on youtube for awhile and i knew i had to start with a system

i went out and bought two memphis 12s in a nice basswork box and a 450watt memphis amp from a pawn shop

went home, hooked it up and my headunit i had in my garage was no good, so i went and got a new clarion headunit.

when i got everything hooked up. it was loud, but not luod enough

i went and got 2 fosgate 12s from my sisters boyfriend that he wasnt using anymore

hooked them up andthe amp couldnt take it and went into protection mode

then my friend texted me and said he was selling a brand new 3500watt amp still in the box for $50!!! i went and got it

so thats where im at now. 2 12" mephis, 2 12" fosgates, clarion head unit, and boss 3500watt amp

next on the list im trading my memphis amp for 4 kicker door speaker

i think im good for now with 4 12s

ive been looking at speaker boxes and trying to find something to build

heres one that i want to build similer to but with only 4 12s

does anyone have any good ideas similer to these?

I think I'd start all over if I were you man, spend a couple days in here learning, then sell everything and just start over. I'm not being mean, I think if you look at the forum for a few days tho you'll understand

Using two different subs in the same box you will run into issues with tuning and so forth. Secondly it looks like you have the Memphis box just sitting there, if you break to hard, get hit or hit someone else just imagine what that will do to your skull when it goes flying through your jeep. First thing first is make sure its all braced down so you will not have a flat skull due to user error.

i agree. 2 differnt pairs and 2 different enclosure? lol im sorry but thats bad. we all start some where. dont mix subs or amps. youll probably end up frying something and run into cancellation and other problems.

Yeah, or you don't have to completely start all over, you could pick a pair of subs to work with, but the subs arnt the problem. Your first amp was going into protect I imagine because it was at an unstable ohm load due to 4 different subs wired all crazy with possible different voicecoil configurations. You should just pick the better pair of subs and sell that amp for $50 again to someone and buy a better one, then build a nice box for your subs.

i might just get 2 more memphis subs and run four of them. the fosgates are just on loan

and they are just sitting there. the jeep isnt , taged, or insured so its not going anywhere like that except around the yard lol so they arnt going to fall or go anywhere

and this is just a start. i dont have alot of money so this will have to do for now

Actually, some of you guys are misinforming him. It is NOT bad to have different brand/size subs in SEPARATE enclosures. Issues start arising when you put them in the same box. I will say it's a bad idea to wire them to the same amp though.
