It goes in the bottom back hole to keep anything dirty from getting in.

But seriously, there is a small hole in the bottom of the handle behind where the mag goes. The butt plug goes here to keep crap from getting up into the gun.

If I remember this thread I will post a pic of my G19 when I get home. I have this installed on it. But I think it was intended more to help with faster reloads than keeping dirt out of the gun. IMO you dont really need to worry about what will happen if a glock gets dirt in it, it WILL shoot. Those damn things will shoot after being under water or buried 6' under or dropped from a helicopter. Glock is one of the most reliable guns made. I trust my life to my G27 .40cal as my daily carry. The closet I have found that I do like better is the Springfield XDm line. Damn near the exact same gun, but the Springfield has a much easier trigger pull and is all ready match grade. But you do pay for all of these extras.

weight reduction. If that was solid it would be a few ounces heavier.

Just picked my G23 Gen 4.

After initially hold the Gen 4 I plan to add the extended slide release. Thanks for the recommendation Smoke.

Felt alot better in my hand than the 27. But still loved the 27 and will more than likely add it to my collection next summer when it warms up as my daily carry.

Yeah that was mostly with the17 and 19 from what I read. And I one thing I checked for was the diassemlbly issue. I read that some Gen 4s would get hung up while trying to reaasimble and all smooth.
