I'd do 9k. Just have to find one

Have no experience with the 12k though.

id go with the 9k. u would have to wire the 12k lower to get the same power from it.

I disagree. They are very similar in power output at 12v. The advAntage of the 9k is that it is strappable and can be run up to 18v. When bridged the 12k and 9k amps are very similar on 12v.

This is correct.. Rusty and I both have Street A cars.. This weekend Rusty and I clamped about 5400w from my 12k at 1.3ohms on 10.4v.. He clamps close to 6000w with his 9k in his setup but he also has double the amount of runs going from his battery to the amp and his nominal load is a bit lower then mine as well.. For those who are not fimilar with Street A, the rules are one 650ci battery and the car off during your run. So on a 12v system these two amps are very close in output I believe. I will be adding more rubs of 2/0 in the next month or so as well as lowering my nominal load to .35 bridged :) I should see a small increase in output hopefully.

Btw.. We clamped over 11k from a DC 7.5k on 16v in a stock CRX running jumpers from the van to the CRX to two XL 10's and metered a 154.5db :D Using the 7.5k with jumpers to my Street A car powering two XL 10's I metered 156.3db sealed on the dash. Not bad for an amp rated for 7500w on 12v and two 10's :) On the burp I got the 156.3 we clamped about 10450w. The 7.5 is a beast!
