Torres Posted January 6, 2008 Author Report Posted January 6, 2008 yeah a little. damn swing shifts SUCK...take my time away. almost had time friday but had to work 4 hours later. i did get the bottom piece cut out and stained. which looks pretty sexy imo. i got pics...but i wanna post a few more at once, since that's about all i got done. got one circle cut out before it got dark. need a longer bit for my router. had to finish the rest of the first hole with a jig saw ftl. hopefully tomorrow i can get the holes cut and maybe the flush mount piece put on.
Torres Posted January 7, 2008 Author Report Posted January 7, 2008 small update. got most of the harder work done. just some cuts to do, a little routing to smooth the edges, and put it together. yes...that's snow. and yes...i stained out in that cold. couple close ups. i'm happy with the overall outcome with the stain. i love my compass holes finally cut flush mount piece. that's the one i gotta trim down to size and mount, and then mount the bottom piece. my sweet ass stickers tomorrow i should have the top piece on, and i can get to painting it. supposed to be like 60-65 freakin degrees tomorrow. and i am gonna go get some steel wool and some poly urethane gloss. sand the stained side down a little with the wool, gloss it, sand it again and repeat till i get the desired shine. should look pretty sexy i hope when it's all said and done. all i got to say is with the time put into this box as far as painting and staining...it BETTER be a damn improvement over my last one
