How big Cubic Ft wise is your box? Fi Recommends BTL 15 – Ported box we recommend using 3-5 cubic feet @ 30-35Hz. Again use 12-16 square inches of vent area per cubic foot of volume. Maybe it is just the picture, but it looks small..I am still in the baby stages with this whole math thing. But I am learning. Just by looking at the picture is it around a 6" x 6" port?? box is about 16 cubes. so 4 per sub. the port is 9.08"x9.08"x 5.5 deep. that's part of the reason why i'm waiting to cover it. spend the time and money...then not like the way it sounds. so i'm hoping to get my other 2 subs in a week or so, then i can have some BEAT finally probably around 100more square inches..lol...but i mean, if you dont like how it sounds then it shouldnt be that hard just to cut the port out and make it bigger... No need to be nervous...Hell I can't even get outside to build my box, so I can't be to critical...Plus I am still learning about all these manual, math equations that it takes to build a box effectively. I must say without this forum I wouldn't have been able to get this far. Steve and all you guys have helped me through and taught me way more then I have learned in 10 to 15 yrs of tinkering with crap. It is easy to add more port, putting it back would be the hard part. Just caught up with this thread......I use the same program for all my box builds so I wouldnt have been to worried about the port. If your using large subs with big power than a smaller box and port will definately increse your output, but it looks like you already changed it so.........EDIT: Same program used for my build and Nismo's and both of us are real happy, hell b4 I went with the general rule of sq" of port and was not happy at all with the output of my box till I cut the port space way down!
