numatik
I have a 2004 silverado with 4 kicker amps, and hella speakers. Whenever I turn off the truck, all the highs make a super loud pop. I know on older gms if the illumination is hooked up it can cause that, but not in all models. Im not sure if thats the case in 2002+ gms. I have an older kenwood indash that has a brain hidden somewhere in the truck, so its not as easy as just pulling the deck to check for a wire. Im wondering of other things to try before I rip it appart. the grounds look good, so I dont know..... Help? AUDIOADDICT02
Something similar happened to my buddy's system, the subs would make a loud "thump" noise when we turned car on or off, so we added a high-low instead of the outputs on the stereo & it got rid of the sound. Mine its all the highs popping, but I have an indash so no need for a high low.... there must be another way. 2marro im probably gonna start tearing it appart to see if its that damn illumination wire.... but theres a good chance that has nothing to do with it. In some older gms it dosnt matter, and others it does, but this is a newer truck so i dunno..... numatik
I already rewired the remote wire to a relay on 15 amps for the 4 amplifiers. Also the stinger pop stopper didnt fix it so I returned it. It has to be an RCA with a bad connection somewhere, theres alot of problems with the wiring of this system, in time im going to have to rip it all out and do it myself so I know its perfect Quote Gary 'Numatik' Eberle West Sacramento, California Vehicle build log (1) 'Aayla' Numatik's one and only, bodydropped pasted the doors Chevy S-20 Ext-Ext cab.
