JGrady
I've been looking for a good pair of crimpers and wire strippers. I just wanted to get an opinion on which one you guys use or recommend. Also, is there a such thing as strippers that would strip zero gauge wire. I have looked a little, but really haven't had any luck. I just don't want to spend the money on a pair and don't work to well or won't last through the years. Thanks for any input. Trey_Dog650
I just bought the one from home depot. Works really good. Only goes up to 12 or 10 gauge. Also had them for 2 years And i have a really big wire cutter that cuts through 4 gauge with ease, so i use those to carefully strip my big wire Quote 13 Kia Forte Build! 07 Hyundai Accent Build ***Super Seller*** N8ball2013 And then he gets to say ok all you guys were right. im sorry for being a dummy poo poo head. ChrisLun
These are the (4) wire strippers any good installer has on hand..... The far right are Klein 0g and large cutters, the next are your Klein dual groove crimps, the next are your Klein speed strippers, and the last are for like alarms and small gauge wires. Hope this helps... Edited October 24, 2011 by ChrisLun Quote 2006 Dodge Charger (2) Kinetic 3800 (1) DC Power 270XP (4) T1-12D4 (1) T2500BDCP (2) T400.4 7.5 cubic ft. chronic2001
http://buy1.snapon.com/catalog/item.asp?store=snapon-store&item_ID=7205&group_ID=796 Little pricey but I've had them for 3-4 years and they are by far the easiest most convenient strippers I've used. For stripping larger wire I just use a razor blade and run it around the jacket. It's quick, clean, easy, and cheap. I got my strippers off the snap on truck that comes to my work. There are cheaper strippers that are automatic but I've never used them so I can say they are good. Blackedout
I use cable Cutters to strip or cut anything 8 gauge and larger. Anything Klein for the smaller stuff. I'm not a fan of the automatic wire strippers. Cable cutters are a must over any type of wire strippers. Quote Trunk Build Log
baaudio
I have klien crimps, the big 1/0 cutters, and the speed strippers. If you use the big cutters you can easily strip wire with them. Just pinch the wire and spin the wire til you've cut thru the jacket and boom stripped 1/0.
