First look for a main brand. next, see what it comes with, ipod cable , front aux rear aux, built in hd radio etc, then check what the pre out voltage is, the higher the better. If your in a beat shop checking them out, mix everything I just told you together then my find a UI thats easy for you to move around easily and quickly. With some big brands they have sub brands: like pioneer theres premier (more expensive better quality more eq options, more pre out voltage etc etc). With Kenwood theres Excelon. With both premier and excelon its much harder to find a store that sells them. Best is to jump around to beat shops try everything out, then order online for half the price. if you want a warranty your going to be retail or close to. my old shop did in sacramento we sold both premier and excelon. My personal favorite is excelon by FAR for everything involved in buying a deck/in dash.I know your not shopping for an in dash but if you were an indash with nav and you have a double din the kenwoods and built in Garmin blow every other brand out of the water and lots of people on here will vouch for me there. Good luck I hope this helps!

Alpine, pioneer, kenwood exceleon, jvc or sony are the ones i'd go with.

For a budget radio i loved my sony for 100! Looked great and never gave me problems. Had the Aux cord

JVC is owned by kenwood brotha. very simler decks but on the lower end. Very great quality for the price and both Kenwood line and JVC line are great

Most of the JVC lineup is low end Kenwood. They do have a few higher up decks that are, guess, higher up kenwood decks! lol

I will ALWAYS push Kenwood Excelon to people with a smaller budget! I just installed this one in my friends truck, sounds really good and is quick to search through iPods too. :drink40:

Damn, a little late lol.

Just got a Pioneer. It looks pretty lame in the picture but its sexy in person. I like this one because you can change the color on this one ahaha.

Kenwood eXcelon and budget don't usually goin the same sentence. I LOVE my double din eXcelon with its 5V outs and a shit ton of them. Ive always been a big fan with the user compatibility with Kenwood. Alpine has always been confusing to navigate for me, plus I've never been happy with the EQ setups in them.

Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.
