got me one of the single blade shavers.. it shaves just like any other shaver. had more trouble with it though.. it looks like i have to trim my beard first then shave. with the 5 blades i dont have to trim. skin does feel less irritated with the single blade

Get different blades. A safety razor loaded with the right double edge blade is no joke. I run a Merkur HD with Lord Platinum blades. They will go through anything.

If your serious about the safety razor go to YouTube and look up geofatboy. Watch some of his safety razor videos, you wont be disappointed.

Try a beauty supply store for blades to see what they may have based on reviews. If you find something you like order a bunch online.

I've had that same razor for about 6 months and want to upgrade to something a bit heavier. It's a good starterms kit though.

Are you using shaving cream or soap?
