That... my friend had 15 tickets for green headlights in less than a month, the also got his truck impounded because of it.

I run 4300k in my lows and I've had 3000k in my highs and 30000k pink. And the yellows are much brighter. I love my 4300k you should run 4300k top and bottom its way brighter than 6k or 8k

Its for my fog lights so I can easily turn them off and on guy sounds like an idiot though.... You don't get your car impounded for lights unless you do stupid shit.

I was with him 6 of the times, and some of my other friends were with him a few other times, in which I have personally DROVE BY him when he was pulled over. What you dont understand is that the cops in my area/town are the biggest dicks you will encounter. No personality and are BY THE BOOK everytime. They physically told him that they will pull him over and give him a ticket everytime they see him with green headlights (I was in his truck when they told him that).. but youre probably right, Im full of shit huh.

He does have a good job and didnt care what or how many tickets he had, but he did get his truck impounded (no not crushed.) Im just saying if the OP wants to get plenty of tickets, then green lights is the way to go. /rant.

if you put 30k in your fogs your more than likely going to get pulled over and get a ticket for it. I say put some 8ks in there to match

First offense is $250.... x 15 = $3750., They probably impounded his truck because his truck because he didn't pay his tickets. That "good job" must not be working out.

You do realize its illegal to drive around with fog lights on in the first place... unless there is fog. Green is just going to attract unwanted attention. Stick to matching.

I don't really feel like opening that can of worms... but your right. Kelvin only determines the color not the brightness of the HID light. Although, the higher the Kelvin, the less light output you get (lumens).

Don't feel like typing all this useful info for hidplant so I'll just copy and paste the rest.

4300K is the best, as it has the highest light output. The problem, though, is that they have a yellow-ish tinge to them that some people find un-attractive. In that case, 5000-6000k is a better choice for you..... as they have a more blue look to them.

And a comparison of Kelvin to lumens;

Standard OEM halogen 55W 9006(HB4) = 1100lm (lumens)

4300k D2S Philips = 3200lm (lumens)

4300k D2R Philips = 2800lm (lumens)

4300k D2S Philips = 2400lm (lumens) actually 5800k

4300k D2R Philips = 2000lm (lumens) actually 5800k

4800k D4S/R (brand) = 3800 (lumens) ** brightest in the market

5800k D4S/R (brand) = 3300 (lumens)

7000k D2S other = 1790lm (lumens) *(other bulb brand)

7000k D2R other = 1390lm (lumens) *(other bulb brand)

8000k D2S other = 1180lm (lumens) *(other bulb brand)

8000k D2R other = 780lm (lumens) *(other bulb brand)

Higher than 8000k, the light output significantly drops off, causing the light to be almost useless.

One should point out that although light output drops off after 8000k, the fact that the light is in the blue-purple spectrum, it still puts a major strain on the eyes of others.

Capsule- technically correct term for a HID "bulb".

Candela- Measure of light intensity (cd)

Ampere- Measure of electrical current

Cut-off- A distinctive line of light produced by the shield in a headlight that blocks light above a certain height in order to prevent blinding of other motorists.

Beam Pattern- The pattern of light that is projected onto the ground which includes angle of lateral dispersion, width and depth of illumination.

Capsule- Another term for an HID bulb. Some refer to HID bulbs as gas discharge capsules.

Optics- The lighting control assembly structured around the bulb, which effects the dispersion of light and it's characteristics to a great degree.

HID (High Intensity Discharge)= Gas Discharge

Halogen= Incandescence

Not to mention that @ 30k.... you'd get more light from a candle strapped under your bumper.

Actually only $140 here each, the only reason they did impound his truck was because he told them he wasnt going to take them out.
