POPLERO
I've seen people wiring there sub(s) to bolts on the box. This is nice and conviniet when changing ohm load and such.. question I have is, what type of bolt is common to use here? Which bolts have the best conductivity? 2008 TBSS Black Granite Alpine CDA-117 Clarion EQS746 AudioQue Supertweets @ dash Alpine DDT-s30 @ b pillars Alpine SPR-60c @ front doors Alpine SPR-60 @ rear doors Alpine PDX-f4 Second Skin DampPro KNUkonceptz Wiring DCpower 270amp alt Optima YT underhood *temp Two15DCxls Hifonics bxi2610 *temp saz4500 and 4 xp3000s coming soon. EclipseChris
Home depot has brass bolts and nuts, but i just use regular 3" all thread rods. It really isn't a big enough deal to worry about it. Just be sure to have firm connections, i have seen loose connections short. i resolve to be a nicer moderator. Tercel build R.I.P. I had loose connection on negative terminal before so wire melted down.
G-Rad
I'm guessing you'd be insulating the bolts from the actual wood with rubber liners, right? POPLERO
On my way to homedepot to see what I can find. I plan on having four 8gauge wires with soldered ends and a locking washer on the inside wall of the box (from woofer to box) and another set the same on the ouside (from box to amp) and curious as to if a rubber of some sort would be needed so wires don't touch wood? 2008 TBSS Black Granite Alpine CDA-117 Clarion EQS746 AudioQue Supertweets @ dash Alpine DDT-s30 @ b pillars Alpine SPR-60c @ front doors Alpine SPR-60 @ rear doors Alpine PDX-f4 Second Skin DampPro KNUkonceptz Wiring DCpower 270amp alt Optima YT underhood *temp Two15DCxls Hifonics bxi2610 *temp saz4500 and 4 xp3000s coming soon. Namosh
No need to insulate the bolts from the wood. Wood isn't conductive. My Ram Quad Cab Blow-through
6berry
i would go with a zinc plated steel bolt since zinc is a better conductor than brass i believe. and wood isnt a conductor so no need to insulate anything 1999 Audi A4 1.8T::: 4 - DC Level 3 10's in a 4th order Rockford P6002 on Subs for now (3-3.5k coming eventually) MB Quart ONX4.60 for Mids and Highs Boston S50 Components in Front Boston S65 Coaxials in Rear 40 Sq Ft of Second Skin Damplifier Build Thread UBL 1948 Plymouth
