Bakerman
So, i've been running a BTL on an AQ2200. I'm doing a wall with 2 subs, but my budget won't allow for two new BTL's. I'm looking at two HDC3's, but my worry is the RMS value is cut in half. Since I'm running two of the HDC3's, do you guys think I will notice a difference, and if it will be a good or bad difference? I just don't have $ for trial and error, and I want to know what to expect when going from one 2000w sub to two 1000w subs.
THEKINGsBACK
Hdc3 will handle more than rated ied dare to say close to 2 he wouldnt be the first to say they did a 167 with a system like that (one that clearly DOESNT), but i have to say, he didnt beat me anywhere, ive never competed against the guy. If he thinks his does a 167, mine would probably put him in a coma. :hairtrick:
herbykw
If its the same size sub, then your cone area is doubling and is on the same power. If the box is built right you should get louder still. 06 300C 5.7 Hemi K&N CAI JVC KW-AVX640 6.1" DVD DC Audio 3.5k 6 DC Audio 8"s 6 cubes 8" aero port at 32hrtz http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/183798-chrysler-300c-8-build/?p=2731834#entry2731834
ChevyBoy95
I emailed them a while back and they said the copper hdc3s will handle 1-2k DAILY, the alums 2-3k. As far as sound or loudness, your the only one who will know when they get dropped in. Team_DC-Derrick
what size subs for the wall? what size BTL? why not just recone the BTL to the size you need and buy 1 more, seems cheaper than buying 2 more subs..... The DC Integra 3 18s to 6 15 build log Team_DC-Derrick's Youtube Team DC Audio where theres a will theres a wall....... ChevyBoy95
I say do it, then if it isn't loud enough add another 2200 or sell it for a 3500.it should move quite a bit more air though. The BTL was a 15, and the wall subs will be 15's. I debated a recone, but its the BTL with a saucer magnet, and its hard to find people who want to get rid of em.
