skyhighcaraudio Posted March 26, 2014 Author Report Share Posted March 26, 2014 hey everyone been wayyyyyy too long!! been insane trying to swap the motor and tax season around here lol so heres a quick update then ill get one and reply to everyone later on tonight (still working on shipping labels for this afternoon) we swapped the motor and did the fenders to be legal with track width, now the truck has to be rewrapped. i painted the door jams while it was apart because that drove me up the wall. i couldnt catch a break on anything with the motor stuff because its so rare to see one of these trucks with the 496 so parts and everything else we impossible. bought everything twice it seemed like it was terrible. but its all going again now. we did a different alt set up because the old set up ended up with the belt being too long to work so we went to 3 370 amp mechmans and dropped the belt length by almost 2 1/2 ft it hasnt been an issue since and probably 300-400 miles on it so far new motor seems a lot stronger than the old one so its all good things! the system is musical as all hell. drops off less than a half db from 25 to 47 so thats awesome because i didnt get a lot of help at all with the design and its my first bandpass of any kind so the fact it works is awesome. itll only get louder from here once everything got back up and going for the first real time the windshield shattered during a demo in bakersfield with about 30 min of play time on it so i gotta see how i can prevent that from happening. its fun lol but after the 4th one its kinda annoying lol cause i wasnt done demoing yet :/ i have a million picks and vids i need to upload which i will hopefully get to tonight. we hired another full time employee so hopefully that will allow me to spend more time on here and other sites posting progress. thank you all for your patience i know its been a long time but i promise itll be worth the wait Contact us for the best quality cables and accessories with the fastest shipping in the industry EMAIL: [email protected]<script data-cfhash='f9e31' type="text/javascript"> /* */</script> LIKE US ON FB: https://www.facebook.com/SkyHighCarAudio ADD ME ON FB: https://www.facebook.com/jon.rabe.1 MONSTER SKY HIGH/DC GMC: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/127057-sky-high-monster-gmc-walk-through-12-lvl-5-15s-6-9ks-trim-panels-and-wiring-p-90/ Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Seriously though that bullet proof glass is no joke! Hell i know they can beef up the doors skins and passenger windows as well...just a thought ..... would be bad ass to see someone take it to that level! keep it up, friggin nuts whats been going on over there! Funny how the people who have a louder system than you will usually give you a compliment about your setup because they know how much blood, sweat, time, and money you put into it. The people who criticize or try and one up you....have a p.o.s to no system at all and will tell you all about this "other" guys system!
