so i just bought the RF 2500-1 BDCP and its recommended at 1/0 Awg wire..i was wondering since i already have 4awg wire installed my car..if it was okay to power this amp with my 4awg??? also i have a single fi btl n2 15 and the rf amp is 2500 @1&2ohm was wondering if this would be too much power to be feeding this sub..i don't want to blow out my sub so soon. THANK YOU!!

Only if you want the 4ga wire to melt and possibly burn your car down. Spend the $100-150 and get a quality 1/0 wire kit.

4ga is good up to about 1200-1400rms, then the switch to 1/0 is the best option.

You will want to have 1/0 for that amp (to do 1 run and a ground should be about 20ft which is 50-60 bucks plus a fuse holder) and an extra battery if you can. Or a really big battery to swap the stock out for.

I dont think the wire will melt bro, You just wont see more than 1200 watts of power traveling through that wire

Ye dig, getting loud off little :D

thats what happens, when it tries to pull more current than the wire can take it causes it to heat up and eventually melt. But the fuse in the fuse holder pops before this can happen, if it is the right amp rating for the wire.
