will77530
hook a dmm up to the coils and see what it reads. the color of coils isnt too important for example i know dc dyes some of there coils different shades so they can tell the difference
wmrcs
x2 some coils are normally black Quote E34 540iT/
stevog
when there blown they either scratch or are super stiff if you say they sound good then your subs are probably all right i dont know about the ohms thing though i know some subs read lower like my fi reads 1.7 ohms on each coil

STEvil
subs are always good until coil bits fall out like toast crumbs from the bottom of a toaster Quote MickyMcD - "Capable of making some serious trouser flapping volumes at where's-my-testicles frequencies, the Servo-Drives used to be fairly jaw dropping..." Any time you have have a power wire next to your frame put some rubber hosing (or cut up an innertube) around it. The wire is bound to wiggle (due to driving or flex) and the casing will eventually wear through. Hammerdown... 1% no links to outside websites, business related FB/YT pages allowed. I've heard of some voice coils being painted to identify the ohms of the coil. But I think they were DC subs.
