sundownz
Didnt watch the vid cause my connection sucks right now. But mic in pass kick, car sealed up? I love 8's. Ray, The "outlaw" scores are in the driver kick with passenger door open -- the passenger kick with with driver door open is about 0.3 dB less. Not sure if we have ever done sealed up kick panel scores or not... but we could try it next round of testing. The 149.9 video was totally sealed up on the dash in dB Drag metering position. sundownz
8s are becoming very popular it seams Yep! It's also been alot of fun seeing how far we can push a single 8" woofer in here. All of this testing from Sean's CRX has really contributed greatly to the development of all the new tooling involved in the SA-8 v.2 Quote - Jacob Fuller - Owner, Sundown Audio - Sundown Audio on FACEBOOK - Please DO NOT PM ME -- use my email address -- [email protected]

sundownz
theyve come along way. 8s used to be meh but they've done alot with them in a short time period. Indeed they have! I remember when I made the first E8 woofer... then the SA-8, then E8 v.2, updates to the SA-8, now the SA-8 v.2 is in a totally new league all together! The SA-8 v.2 platform will allow me to do some other neat stuff too down the line now that I have this great new frame to work on! The X-8 will be just plain silly whenever we get it done (taking forever... but still working). sundownz
Is the X-8 gonna mainly be for SPL setups? It will have alot more motor behind it than an SA-8 v.2 so response won't be quite as flat but from a distortion perspective it is still going to be an excellent daily woofer with very low levels of distortion. Ray
Thanks jacob. Ill get a few thru aubrey. Think hes my closest dist. The reason i use so many 8's is because of the various types of installs i can do with 1 sub. Small underseat chevy...2-8's Small hatch ...2/4-8's Sedan...8's. Lol And have great success and tons of wow factor when someone sees its only a 8" woofer. I did do 3 sa.v2 8's under the seat of an 2011 quad cab chevy Wood bottom box, subs forward port side On 1500 that thing goes deep, 143.3 @33 in a truck. Thats a damn good score. Cant wait to do some testing in my personal truck.
