Autruche
That second alt is sweet! Thanks! I only wish it were a high output. Oh, and I have another 50 feet of power wire on the way, some more terminals, and I am going to get to work on my door panels and pillars this week. Hopefully within the next 2 weeks I will have 2 runs of 0 gauge positive, two runs of 0 gauge negative, and be running a 3 way active front stage. And I think I might start designing a new 6th order. Autruche
Decided to get started on the door panels. Here's the plan: 4 - 6.5s per door, 2 - 4s per door, 2 - tweeters per door (on in between the 4s, one in the sail panel) Supplies. Couldn't remember where the hell I put my body filler though. New front door panels for free! It's good to have connections. Here's the layout That's it for now, as I have to get ready for work. I may work on them when I get back from work. I probably won't work on them tomorrow, because I have to build a box for a friend. Need Test Tones/Sine Waves? Autruche
I'd like to see more pics of your box build. Can do, hit up this thread: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/123199-the-scrap-wood-sixth-order/page__view__findpost__p__1735647 And, to be honest, that thread only has about half of the pics I took of the build in it. Autruche
Build's looking alright. Replace those turbo oil/coolant lines and fix your fluid leak. On my list of things to do, along with replacing my brake rotors, vacuum lines, motor mounts, control arm bushings, struts, and sway bar links. I also have to fix the door handles, and replace the driver side front window regulator. but, hey that's why I have a parts car. Need Test Tones/Sine Waves? Autruche
Ran the new power and ground wires last night, and finished them up tonight. Now I have 2 runs of 0 gauge positive and two runs of 0 gauge negative. Well, sort of. I ran out of power wire and had to have the 2nd ground just be a body ground, but oh well. I also rigged up a ghetto dual power input for my Sundown. And here's my ghetto dual inputs. I just whipped them up out of the ends from an old fuse block I had. Also, I mounted my old Dual 4 channel on the box. I will be using it for powering my midbass. Midrange and tweeters will be powered off of the Hifonics. Crazy 3-way active front stage will be the next project. Later today, when I wake up, I will run the speaker wires and get it playing again. Need Test Tones/Sine Waves? Autruche
A little upset, I somehow popped 2 of my tweeters. I must have had the crossover set too low for them. That means the total casualty count for my O2s comes to: 2 crossovers, 2 tweeters and 1 midrange. The midrange sucked, but I have a replacement for it, but damn, 2 tweeters... I guess I'll have to get a hold of O2 and see if I can buy replacement ones. Anyway, this is what I got done today. Secured my inputs so they won't move around. Not pretty, but it works. I'm not a fan of my car starting on fire. A quick shot of the input side on my distribution block. I didn't have enough wire for all 4 runs, so I settled on one direct run of negative and one chassis ground. Eh, it works. Either way I have 2 positive and 2 negative inputs. That's why there is one red wire for the ground. Front fuses. Just a couple wires. I think I need new terminals. lol. I have to say that it was worth every penny and every minute spent freezing my nuggets off outside because I now know my amps are getting every drop of juice I can give them. And it is pretty noticeable, as I went from dropping to mid 13s at full tilt to nearly hitting my battery's resting voltage. Well, that's it for now. Going to start on the doors tomorrow, and the pillars later in the week. Need Test Tones/Sine Waves?
