My 2004 Mazda 3 Complete Build

Well guys after seeing some of the builds on this forum, I motivated myself to post mine. I might not be good at making a post but wanted to share my passion with you guys anyhow. It's the first time I get involved in build like this. I'm a noob but my willingness to learn and the availability of information on the Internet has really helped me a whole lot. Working on cars is my passion. I wish I could have started when I was younger but it is what it is. It's taken me almost 2-1/2 years, but it's finally coming together. Hope you guys enjoy.........

Let me remind you that I have never done any custom audio before..................

The info:

I love Rockford 's amps so much that I decided to hunt for some rare and somewhat old for my build. I installed a Rockford P1200.2 for the (2) P3D412's. I built a custom amp rack on the hatch door. I'm using a Rockford 500S for my (4) Audiopipe APMB-8 in the rear deck. I have a Rockford 500X which I'm planning on using for the mids which will be for (4) Audiopipe APMB-6BT (1 on each door) and for the tweeters (NOT PURCHASED YET). I have a Rockford P400.4 and I'm planning on using it for (4) Audiopipe APMB-8 (2 on each front door-NOT PURCHASED YET). I will be deleting the rear seat and adding (4) Rockford's P3SD410's (NOT PURCHASED YET), which will be facing towards the front of the car and they will be pushed by a Rockford BD1000. This enclosure will be made in fiberglass. I will fit a Kinetik KHC-600 battery (NOT PURCHASED YET) and an electronic x-over, between the sub's. Im also gonna be purchasing a Rockford OEQ-2 in January and I will need to find a good spot to house it. I saw a fellow member on here placed his on the headliner and I like the idea. Will see what I can come up. I will also be re-doing all the doors with new vinyl and fiberglass. I will start on the custom enclosure after the new year and soon after that, on the doors. Stay tuned..............

There are 2 issues which I don't have an answer to yet, and I will welcome your help and suggestions:

First, I'm not sure how many tweeters I will need and where if any somewhere else besides the doors ????

Second, I'm planning on adding the Kinetik KHC-600 but dont know if it will be enough and if I should add a capacitor ????

I don't remember the exact cu. ft. of the boxes but I made sure I made them to spec with the P3D412's.........

I managed to find a couple pics from when I did the custom amp rack on the hatch door for my P1200.2 . I'm still missing red leds that are going to lite up the border of the amp up and to sound proof the hatch itself. I will take some pics of the finished product soon.

I will be adding some red led's to light my logo up.........and hoping it will look cool !

Makes me Jealous of how clean it looks, nice job,, especially since right after I looked at the pics and posted, then to reread that you have never done car audio before!! wow, cause it looks awesome !! also dual exhaust kit? I love Mazda's, I have a 06 mazda3 hatchback black, so I know this car inside and out love it to death, very nice job man

Also where did you get the body kits? and what kind of exaughst system is that? any other upgrades?

I would not do a capacitor, I would upgrade the alt with a mechman, I have there 220 amp unit, works nicely, only thing with this vehicle is the that voltage is not controllable at the moment with any system, so my voltage is at around 13.5 -14.2 most of the time, and has nothing to do with the load, I have a XS Power d3400 in front, and a d3100 in back, overall loving it

That is some VERY nice work you have done there. Such a clean installation, I am quite fond of it. I also am sort of attracted to the mazada 3's for some reason I just can't name. I like them.

Nice build. I like the use of classic Fosgate. I plan to use 4 of that generation amp in my next build.

Very nice build, DON"T get a capacitor Though, you will be much better off investing in the rest of your electrical like batteries, HO alt, and good wire. IIRC, a HC-600 is supposed to be = 100 1-Farad capacitors.

Its Because its Pure Japanese Sexiness its like the design other car makes tried, but failed, mazda got it right

Dereileak, you are so right about Mazda. They brought out the 3's and they were an instant hit I love the passion you have involved in yours as well. Lovin' the build, it's coming out very nice. Too bad I don't dig the new ones, maybe if the look of them change, I might get a Mazdaspeed in the future!

I too will be add the mechman alternator as well as a battery isolator, thanks for pointing that out. Also my wiring will change to 0/1 gauge from the front battery to the extra one.The body kit is an Extreme Dimensions Raven Style and the exhaust setup is a MSDS Ceramic Coated header and a custom dual exhaust & catback made at my local muffler shop.

Hey guys, quick question...........When I add the second battery, will I need a battery isolator and if so, like which one ?????????

I see they come with different amps...........
