Smoove Posted December 26, 2011 Report Posted December 26, 2011 I currently have 2 HX2 8" subs sealed in their own boxes on each side of my ext cab truck. They sound great in those boxes. I am planning on building a center console in the truck to house an HX2 10 ported. Is there anything wrong with building a system that has both a sealed and a ported design in it? And for those people who have seen my multiple questions/posts recently. Kevin M Posted December 27, 2011 Report Posted December 27, 2011 This is possible but not recommended. If you were to use them one of them for subbass and two for midbass that could work. Steep x-over slopes will help. (24db) Porting midbasses is possible but you have to have your shit together and have a good understanding of tuning and a gaggle of dsp. I run large drivers in front (10" in door IB) and 18" in back but there is Zero overlap. It will have muddy sound and there will be some nasty cancellation if they are all playing the same freq.
