IBleedMusick
I could be wrong and please someone correct me if I am but it has always been my understanding that the lower the ohms the less efficient your amp is because it is pushing more power and you get deeper and stronger bass the will hit harder. The higher the ohms are the less power coming from the amp which will in turn produce a better sound because the amp is more efficient. In essence you lose that hard hitting bass but gain some SQ. jmilch
you will create a black hole in the universe I have to ask, why would you think it would be a problem to wire a pair of them down to 4ohm? Some very high end mids/highs distort more @ 4 ohm, and sound quality can suffer. IBleedMusick
Okay I figured I didn't explain it correctly but I am correct to assume my question or belief wasn't a dumb one. 2013 Dodge Charger Build Log 1996 Ford Explorer XLT 5.0Build Log 2005 Honda Civic LX Coupe Build Log SMD SUPER SELLER!!!!My Selling Feedback

Some very high end mids/highs distort more @ 4 ohm, and sound quality can suffer. Have never heard that before, but even so Seleniums are not high end mids, they'll sound just fine at 4ohm. I would assume the OP is more concerned with getting loud if he's looking at PA mids. OP you'll be quite happy with them at 8ohm or 4ohm, whichever gives you enough power to push them. IBleedMusick
Lol you are correct to assume I do want to get loud and sound good but I appreciate all the feedback on this I will try it both ways and see which one makes me happier in the end 2013 Dodge Charger Build Log 1996 Ford Explorer XLT 5.0Build Log 2005 Honda Civic LX Coupe Build Log SMD SUPER SELLER!!!!My Selling Feedback

Well let me clear it up, the speaker itself doesnt necessarily distort more, but the power coming to it has more distortion. After all the speaker just plays what it is given. And the additional power combined with the fact that it may contain more distortion, results in the speaker suffering in sound quality...
