Vooloco
Can an aq hdc3 take as much power as a fully loaded fi bl? Also what would work better with about 1200 watts going to it? Thanks
Guest
impossible to tell you which will be better with X watts. and the first part of the question doesnt even apply if you later ask which one is better with 1200 watts. It would be a waste to get a sub that can take 3+ thousand watts to only put 1200 through it. You would be better off getting a lesser sub and putting the saved money into other thingd Quote ~~~~~~~~SAY NO TO PHOTOBUCKET~~~~~~~~ Snow's DD-1 tracks here: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/167433-snows-dd-1-tracks/ My take on OFC vs CCA: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/110381-things-that-piss-you-off-in-the-car-audio-world/?do=findComment&comment=2461444

I might upgrade the amp to a 2000 watt one in a few months.
mlstrass
Copper coil HDC would do well on 1200watts. Just because it can take more doesn't mean you have to feed it that much. I'd go on the big side for the enclosure if you go that route. No idea what a BL is rated for, but I'm running an AQ1200 on the wife's Q with no issues.
