hmm wonder why they used aluminum wire instead of copper, thats wat most of them are arent they? Atleast ever speaker sub I have ever taken apart were copper wound coils

true. accordman explained this to me one day. when the copper heats up, the resistance changes and you never get the real power to the sub/subs.

Im also sure they went with aluminum wire because it is cheaper then copper wire.

It only costs my work to $6 to scrap out an aluminum Harley Davidson transmission that weighs 18 pounds.

As does Aluminium, as it is an Ohmic Resistor (mostly). This phenomenon is called Power Compression.
