2500rms on a pair of SA-12's daily?

idk why, but you people seem to think his subs will actually be seeing that 2500 watts. forget about rise, and voltage loss? he will be lucky to see about 1800w after rise on a good day, at most, im willing to bet he will prolly never ever send those subs 2500w to the pair, even 2k at that

i have seen daily applications that were wired down to 1 ohm, even .5 that rose to above 3 ohms and beyond, its stupid because its constantly fluctuating and increasing as heat is added

Thanks for the comment definitely dont want my subs to go bad, ive had like 5 different setups and to this day never burned a single sub but i guess its cause your right i tend to play it safe.

Also its because i really cant stress it enough but i have to turn up my beat daily and for a long time and i just want the sub to survive it all.

Ive had luck though that most of my subs were subs that can take more than rated by a couple hundred too.

Its tough to recommend that a sub can take twice its rms daily for example the way i play beat. However, will have to check this sub out and see what it can do and if it can change my mind.

Yeah thats what im saying, even my mom loves bass so on the weekends we have it on in the driveway bumping without stopping for like an hour or so. then stop a little then again. A lot of spanish music.

I had a saz3000 at .5 ohm on a pair and it took it fine. Didn't even get stinky. Just make sure your gains are set right.

meh had mine on my 3500 for 3 months, sold them to k3n12ock cause i upgraded to the z12v.2s, he had his on 3000d @ .5 daily, sold them cause he upgraded to XLs about 2 months later, then the same woofers were ran on a saz2000d @ .5 for about 3 weeks which btw took first in class in rookie 2 at tnespl finals

subs are still being ran today, since march when i originally got mine.. thats going on 10 months now, so they saw 3k+ for a good 5/6 months

but normally, a single 2500 has been the most common for people to run to them, you shouldnt see any issue if its clean power

however most importantly, a proper subwoofer enclosure, preferably larger than 2.6 cube box

this is a very interesting thread here, for what i seen on post here is not all amps do rated on different ohm load, is like yeah maybe there is guys running a sundown 3500 on those subs but at what ohm load for daily? maybe they do .5 ohms for competitions then set it back to 2 ohm for daily. you really need to look into that before you strat frying your equipment. anyways chimmi in if you think im wrong

I mean i run DC stuff and its known that it takes more than rated easy. ANd i love to bump at the top every time i get in the car. SO i build my system accordingly. Also i am always rebuilding and trying new things and when i see a deal i pick it up and start a new build. I have had like 2-3 different sub stages in like the past 3 months. lol i change it up alot. But im always either upgrading my subs or amp. not at the same time. So i get good subs and run them on a small amp till i can get a big amp, then save for some bigger subs. Thats what i do because i want to run 10000rms but i cant afford that NOT EVEN ClOSE. so i feel its best to work up to it.

Just get an amp that fits what you want your subs like. or if you are looking to upgrade subs get a bigger amp than u need, run it low untill u upgrade ur subs.

the saz3500D really does 1700 rms at 2ohm load

so maybe the guys saying they run this subs at .5 ohms are really running it at 2 ohms

Rich, I ran 1200 rms to each of my SA-15's. (AQ3500.1 at 2 ohms) they took it fine with anything above tuning, but if you want to play them with high power, don't even think about playing them below tuning full tilt. They will take more power, as long as it's clean power, and you do NOT play below tuning at all.

And for those of you that say your buddy ran a 3k at half ohm blah blah blah. I'm sorry, but I'd like a bit of frequency range instead of only being able to play above 35hz. Remember, it's a 2.5" coil. It's not a unicorn woofer like sone people make it out to be. Don't get me wrong. I love sundowns products and agree they are badass, but people jock Jacob A LOT and most of those people are the ones that say "oh it can handle TONS OF POWAHHH" without even running the product. Good luck with your system tho man. At the end of the day, it's you're decision. Not ours. I'm just giving you my personal opinion from experience.
