DDM - 40.00 AC Voltage Clamp Meter - 11.16 amps X ----------- = 446.4 x 4 ohms ------------ SUPPOSE TO BE 1,785.6 Watts RMS !!!?? is this right? out of a AQ 2200D !!?? 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee LaredoPioneer AVH- 3200DVD2/0 Flex-A-Prene Welding Cable (2) Fully Loaded Fi Sp4's dual 1-------> My YouTube Channel <------- Needs more power those woofers will laugh at that turd
Bump4life Posted January 11, 2012 Report Posted January 11, 2012 definetly doesnt sound right. i don't think you multiply by 4 ohms. i believe your amps times AC voltage is your RMS. Thus you got 446.4rms @ 4 ohms. if that amp was doing 1700+ at 4 ohms it would have been know by now ahha. Robert8252 Posted January 11, 2012 Report Posted January 11, 2012 AC voltage from the speaker outputs divided by the amp draw on the positive wire from the amp.That will give you your impedance at each frequency. Multiply the AC voltage by its self then divide that number by the ohm loads you just came up with.thats a heck of alot more realistic than just use 4 ohms or 2 ohms becuase you just did the work to find out what your amp is really seeing. so the wattages you come up with are alot more realistic. All info can be found here http://www.stevemead...an-amplifier/ so with your numbers you had a 3.57 reactive ohm load putting out 448.2 watts.
