CJ18
It is a very power hungry amp but is also very efficient with the power that it uses. I was running mine with 1 270a alt and 8 XS D3400s and had drop down to around 12v from 14.8v.
CJ18
Personally I will take my DC 12k over the warhorse all day. Simply for the ease of wiring.
sqsux
If you search the forums, this has been discussed in detail. It is very complicated and hard to explain. The simple answer right now is that you CANNOT wire your subs to this amp like you would a standard amp. You MUST wire coil 1 on each sub and coil 2 on each sub to the proper side of the amp. The connectors on the amp are labeled so you know which coil goes to which anderson connector. Not what I was getting at, but okay... Start out boxy, shape as you move along. momofx76
CJ18, so basically you are saying that if he runs two Dual 2 Ohm Solo-X 18's, he cannot just series each sub then parallel to bring it down to a 2 Ohm load for this particular amp? Also, do you think a Class D with around the same power rating would be LESS power hungry? Thanks man.

The red plugs that you see are the coil power outputs. I dont remember which side is which, but all coil 1s wire to one and all coil 2s wire to the other. Honestly, any 10000w amp is going to be very power hungry. It all depends on budget as to what you can do. Personally I hate voltage drop and will do anything to keep from having it, so my electrical is now much more than I really need,, but I sit at 15.9 and do not drop full tilt. Berto
From skimming this thread, OP do NOT listen to ANYONE EXCEPT CJ18. Guys, if you haven't used this amp yourself or have helped install this amp then you might not have a clue how this amp works. This might help though. Look at the pic CJ18 posted and then read this: Left speaker inputs = sub 1 coil 1 positive and negative + sub 2 coil 1 positive and negative Right speaker inputs = sub 1 coil 2 positive and negative + sub 2 coil 2 positive and negative. Do NOT just get all the positives and wire them together. TEAM FLEX ISSUES Car: 1985 Oldsmobile Delta 88 Royal 24" Rims HU: 7" Carputer, Planet Audio EQ, iPhone.
