im wanting to do a ported box and have it tuned low to get the 240sx flexing but do not want to do a wall.

i want to be able to remove the box when needed.

and to keep the sway bars (X-bars) installed.

i was thinking if the port needs to be long i can have to port go in between the bar and the trunk floor.

my back seats will be removed and have my batterys and amps there.

so the spare battery casing in the back will be moved.

and the spare tire compartment, would that just be better to make a false floor and not even try to use that space?

heres pix of what im working with

not sure with those subs but most 12s need about 2 cuft of airspace after port bracing and sup displacement. then with a ported box i know most people seem to tune around 32-35hz im tunning around 35-40hz. so in the end you will need a box with atleast 4cuft net of airspace and have it tuned to where you like it with about i would say 16 sq in per foot.

a box at about 15" high 32.5 wide and 25.5 deep would give 4.06cuft net for the subs slot ported tuned to 37hz with 15 sq in of port per foot, the port would be 2.5" wide with a total lenght of 22". would have a double baffle and you would have .06cuft that you could use up for bracing and 45s in the corners. should sound nice in a box like this but im sure someone will chime in with a more knowlege on those subs

singer alt, tons of wiring, smd vm-1, 80prs, back seat delete, still in the works, aiming for a 145-147 with the ability to play 25hz up to 50hz.

could build a housing for batts or amps in the spare tire space and make a nice beauty panel to show them off...

masterbation is free, and even saves you money.sorry but someone had to say it

sorry, Jimmy...beat you to it (no pun intended)

LOLDON'T get a wife. Best advice I never got, and now it's too late <_<

My build: 12" DCON in a dorm room.

New/current build: 8" woofer, custom amplifier block, fiberglassed speaker pods

Just say no to Ground Pounder Customs.

More box builds

some cars do over 170db with one sub, so clearly my two 12"s can do that in my car, with my knowledge too! look out bitches!

I'm with captain stupid.

Port area is too low.

dual 4.5" aero ports with length of 18.8 in would give acceptable results, the box would spec as follows:

Fb = 32,341 Hz

Vb = 3,707 ft^3

Also I would do a dual layer baffle and some vertical crossbracing
