IzzyRamos
lets just say i did clipp it and over heat it the sub still kicked ass and sounded good for 3 years everyday on the same amp same box same car..if i did something wrong it wouldnt of have lasted 3 years. and it still worked even though the plug was dancing aroung inside and smashed shit up its a heavy ass plug also thats why the coil rubbed so bad on 1 side..im gonna recone it but do i try n glue this back slug in?.. n8ball2013
Nick hit me back. he said there is glue but if you heated up the coils enough to burn the coils you could have gassed the glue. It would explain why it doesnt look like there was anything there. Miguels
that sub was bottoming out and the amp was clipping, surprised the sub actually lasted that long. you might want to check your subsonic filter and set to box tuning my logshttp://www.stevemead...-my-new-set-up/my blow through loghttp://www.stevemead...future-updates/ 96 ss http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/164094-96-impala-ss-build/
ChevyBoy95
regardless, that coil is almost black. that is from heat. Even playing 1 bad clipped song at full tilt can cause issues that cause immense heat. either way, most likely your fault. going strong for 3yrs straight aint bad either if you ask me.
