Well, in all the chaos, I ordered a brand new 2012 DD M3a...and will be sending back the other unit to dB-r (again). Here are some pics of the 2nd time it burned up...notice that the same coils are burned in the same area...only worse this time...enjoy =)

Succes with the rebuild, but as you bought a new amp I'm confident that will be the case. I'm not too fond of repaired audio hardware in general...
