TLSF150 Posted February 6, 2012 Report Posted February 6, 2012 Sorry if this is a dumb question but what gauge speaker wire should I run on my D2 VVX-12? I tried using 10 gauge to wire it up but I couldn't get it to fit in the terminals since I'm wiring it for 1 ohm load.. amp is a MB Quart 1.1000d btw..
KA24DE Posted February 6, 2012 Report Posted February 6, 2012 I used 14 gauge, I have heard of people using 16 and 12.. I don't think it would make that big of a difference if you just used 12 or 14 or even 16, I heard the difference is negligible.

It's what I used for my runs and jumpers for my VVX's but you have to shave it down a lot to get it to fit. TLSF150 Posted February 6, 2012 Author Report Posted February 6, 2012 Thanks guys I ended up going to a audio shop this morning and tried a few wires.. ended up getting some stinger 12 gauge it just barely fits in without having to trim anything.. The guy had never heard of Skar before and asked me to bring it in.. he looked a little shocked when I walked in with it lol.. I guess he was thinking it was gonna be some cheap POS sub lol

Lost all my extra wiring so I picked up some Xscorpion 10 gauge speaker wire for when I get my second VVX-12. No idea how that will fit. I guess he was thinking it was gonna be some cheap POS sub lol Yeah, very few people outside the online forums know about Skar Audio. It's fun to surprise people when they actually hear them, though
