AMI CUSTOMS Posted October 13, 2012 Author Report Posted October 13, 2012 Yup true that Nate, blew all the grounds on the deck to all the RCAs last night, took me 5 hours to figure it out and make sure all the amps were fine, thought I smoked them, crazy ass ground loop that happened with oscope weird ass fuck and doesn't make any sense but is fixed now, did the RCA bare wire loop ground figure 8 trick. Then this morning pretty sure I got a triple joint failing, more testing, but I have two spare woofers so no biggie. Just depressing when shit breaks u don't want to break lol. AMI CUSTOMS Posted October 13, 2012 Author Report Posted October 13, 2012 Only at volume 22, which is around 500 per sub, at 27 volume will be around 3000 per sub, at 22 volume I couldn't breath and it is noticeably louder then my old wall. And I have had 24 hours worth of problems over the last two days. Damn how is there such a big jump is 5 clicks? That's 500 watts per click (if consistent rise) It is because I set to a soft clip so at click 27 I am barely clipping oscope shows ACvoltage at 155 VAC at clip 26, 128 VAC, see the jump and so on it just because of preamp voltage from the deck. At volume 22 it is 50 VAC all those numbers are per pair of amp since they are strapped. Oh and blew a dust cap off too by the way.... AMI CUSTOMS Posted October 14, 2012 Author Report Posted October 14, 2012 Well after dicking with one of the woofers all day, got the dust cap glued back on and it would have to cut off now, the spider layers on one side of the former, that middle spider is rubbing against something it is between the other spiders, triple joint is solid. Tried letting CA glue soak into the sub overnight and then free aired the shit out of it, two AQ3500s strapped at 2 ohms on one HDC3 free air full tilt 20 hz tone like 4 inches of flex lol. Sound is still there it is a million times better, gonna try injecting some glue into the spider and try again if that don't work gonna put stock hdc3s in its place for the show next weekend. Holy run on sentence..... Passenger Side Driver side PVC pipe that I was going to paint, damn noobs lol Simulated metal paint, pretty cool stuff. Tape removed looks good!!! Almost finished!!! Done!!!! After all the stuff that happened I decided to blow off some steam and shoot some guns, yum yum. My 9 mm Bro in laws 30-06 Then shot this, 12 gauge 3.5 inch turkey load, out of the smokin pole!!! Also shot a .357 mag, 270, .22 mag rifle, 45 Colt "Judge" Then worked on that sub some more, ended up injecting CA glue into the spider, seems to have fixed it, just need to test it tonight.
