Amps won't turn on. 16 volt system. relay for turn on

Hello all, having a bit of a puzzler. i have 4 sundown 3500s hooked up to my 9 16 volt xp1000s. power grounds are wired up. remotes are all jumped together.

i tried using the normal turn on and nothing.

i jumped the bat + to turn on and everything turns on.

hooked up a bosch style 5 pin relay

30 to 16 volt bats +

85 to ground

86 to 12 volt turn on/remote wire.

87 to amp turn on

87a nothing hooked up

do they need 16v to turn on? not sure how that works or how the relay works. sorry if i am way off! lol

Relays are good to 24v so its gotta be a wiring issue

Okay are you running 12 volt and 16 volt? What voltage is your head unit running at? And just from looking at it you have the relay hooked up backwards.

That is from 12 volt.com

86 goes to remote turn from HU or ignition

87 12 volt constant

30 remote turn for each amp, just daisy them like you said

85 ground

87a is nothing connected

Relay seems fine. My concern would be that the amps can't handle 16v on the remote input

I guess you could wire the sides of the coil in the relay either way and it will work. So it must be a wiring issue then go back over your wiring.

Keep in mind that some relays have a diode inline with the coil to help keep it from ringing....and that may be his problem. OP, Try swapping your inputs on pins 85 and 86.

I thought of that too, allows the coil field to collapse without a voltage spike. Which if that was the case he wouldn't get anything out of them if wired backwards, just have to check to see if there is a diode present to attach his remote turn lead from HU to positive side of coil, which would be the cathode side of the diode, side with stripe on it.
