KodyKakistocracy
I have 1/0 AWG running from battery to trunk, into a distribution block, two 4 AWG wires out, one running to each amp. 4 AWG ground from each amp, both grounded to the frame of my car. one remote turnon wire from my head unit to trunk, cut and spliced to run to both amps. rca from head unit to trunk, split and running to both amps. each amp is bridged running one sub. amps are Legacy LA2970BK. my problem is this: yesterday, everything worked. today, one amp works, but the other doesnt. it has power, the blue trim on top of the amp lights up, but no pwer to the sub and neither the power led OR the protection mode led light up. ive checked everything, all wires are good, changed the fuses, and now the other amp goes into protection mode randomly. im stumped. the1uwannab
The only thing i can think of is my grounds, theyr runnig about 5 or 6 feet from the amp to where i geounded them? get a multimeter and make sure that the powers are at 12v or higher and the remotes are at 12v or higher and check your grounds also the amps might light up just with the remote powering them and you might have a bad connection at a fuse block or distribution block so check voltage first. Bump4life
your head unit might not put out enough voltage on remote wire to turn both amps on. check to make sure that is not issure and you dont need a relay Quote Buyer/Seller Feedback Thread: http://www.stevemead...5015-bump4life/ MB C220 153 Trunk Car Build Log: http://www.stevemead...d/#entry1840136 MB C280 Ipad Dash SQ Build Log: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/194484-bump4lifes-new-benz-tony-c-relay-kit-pictures-ce-electric-audison-front-stage-installed/ My SPL Log: http://www.stevemead...__fromsearch__1 BMW M340 xDrive Stock, for now. BEEMDUB
hmm I would think that if the remote wasnt getting enough to turn on the amp light wouldn't even turn on but if a relay is needed heres the thread that will help you in case you already didn't know http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/22495-multile-amps-or-accesories-on-remote-lead/
KodyKakistocracy
I tried disconnecting the remote from the other amp and connecting it to the amp that doesnt work, so that the remote wire is not being split to run two amps but just one, and still the amp wont do anything. the led front lights up as soon as i turn the car on just like the other amp, but no power led, no protection led, and no sound. I checked all my wiring, all connections are good, everything has the right voltage. I thought maybe it was something internal, so I pulled the amp apart and checked everything I could think of, I can't find anything wrong yet it still wont work. im completely stumped. Jared420
If the voltage is all good and connections are good seems like its an internal amp problem but I would triple check your grounds maybe the wire is loose from the ring terminal or however you connected it to the frame or it's dirty and not making good connection rule out all the easy stuff Quote 2012 silverado ext cab ltz 24" kmc rims AudioQue 2200 Pioneer AppRadio Alpine mrx f35 4 channel Bose mids and highs Iraggi Alt + stock alt in a DC power dual alternator kit Yellowtop+stock under hood 0 gauge Knu wire Big 3 4 gauge stinger (4 chan wiring) 3 DC 10'' LVL3 with LVL4 parts
BEEMDUB
maybe try connecting your ground directly to the battery to rule out any ground problems...
joh17
Take out that amp and set it up on a test bench and see if its working. If it works then there's a problem somewhere in the set up.
KodyKakistocracy
It's the amp. I've tested everything, even put the amp in my brother's car and hooked it up, same problem. the blue trim on the front of the amp lights up but nothing else. So it's the amp.
