h23a3lude Posted February 18, 2012 Report Posted February 18, 2012 So I've just recently bought a new DB Drive Okur A4 4200 amp. I have a set of DB Drives' platinum 6.5's which are 3ohm impedence. I intend to buy another set of 6.5's or 5.25's but they will more than likely be 4ohm impedence, is it okay to run two different impedences as long as they are on seperate channels? And i cant run the same speakers in the rear because my trunk springs wont clear a bulky magnet but I dont wanna fry my amp, and im just not entirely sure so i figured i'd check before i wire it all. White Lightning Posted February 18, 2012 Report Posted February 18, 2012 4 channel amps normally should see 4 ohms per channel ... some, maybe 2 ohms if channels 1 and 2 or 3 and 4 are bridgeable ... Not sure if 3 ohms per channel will work on that amp ... might want to ask DB Drive on that one ... I'm talking normal conditions here ... Front channels at 4 and rear at 3 is fine. the front and rear do not have to be the same. If it does 200w @ 4 ohm and 400w @ 2 ohm I would estimate 300w @ 3ohm per channel. I'm not too fami.iar with DB Drive amps and if their amps are rated Peak or RMS, just keep this in mind so you dont over power your speakers and blow them.
