skittlesRgood Posted February 21, 2012 Report Share Posted February 21, 2012 The cp amps don't make the same across all loads they just make rated power across 2 and 1 ohms in my case 500 but actual power is 483@ 4 608@2 817@1 and ???@ .5 I'm hoping someone whom has tried this will shed some light I would think rockford quality components in their power series amps would easily handle the low impedance i bet they are designed so well that they have a protection against low impedance maybe, maybe not. anyways, you dont want to run your amp at .5ohm. lately everyone thinks you need to run below 1ohm and get over 150db or else your system sucks. I dont get it. .5ohm should scare you, not seem like something normal. it should be left to those who feel it is worth blowing up their amp for a higher score. otherwise ill bet someone like you will bitch about how your amp blew up and its RF's fault for not making their amps good enough. then go on a rant about how the company sucks. we see that here every so often. if you want more power, buy a bigger amp. dont run under rated until you know what you are doing.
