moh.vze.com
Since everyone will be buying a trunk battery soon, I figured it would be useful to have a topic on how to properly install a 2nd battery. I've read on google that having a battery in the trunk not properly secured is dangerous when you get into an addident. They say that it's possible for the battery to break through the back seat upon a collision. Also do I have to worry about ventilation for the battery? XP3000 to be specific. Post your suggestions please. Jaloosk
If it's a lead-acid type battery, you need to put it in a sealed box, secure it, then vent it outside of the vehicle. If it's a gel-cell type battery, all you need to do is make sure it's secured, and protect the terminals from accidental shortage. The battery you mentioned is a gel-cell type. SnowDrifter
The battery he mentioned is a sealed AGM battery. You only need to worry about venting with a traditional flooded battery. With an AGM or gel cell battery - just bolt it down and you are good. Keith77
^^^ This ... just secure it and you will be good to go Quote Thats cool. Im way too old to be upset by shit like that. Your name is winston. Your own parents hated you even before you were born. My penis is bigger than your penis I'm far from loud and my roof/headliner flaps around like Adam's ass on a windy day. I think it depends more on the structure of the vehicle.
moh.vze.com
Well I'm looking at the picture on http://www.audiosavings.com/products/Car-Battery-and-Power-Cells/XS-Power-XP3000-3000-Watt-Power-Cell-Car-Audio-Battery-Power-Stereo-System/XP3000.aspx and it doesn't look like it comes with any brackets for me to bolt down. Would I need to go to home depot and buy them? Direct me in the correct material needed for securing this battery in the trunk please Quote DC Audio - Singer Alternators - Knukonceptz - XS Power - Hybrid Audio - Rockford Fosgate - Second Skin Audio - SMD - Sundown Audio - Elemental Designs
Jaloosk
You'll have to build something to hold it. Wood or MDF is easy to work with. Quote "Cheap, good or fast. bumonskateboard6
I'd build a small wooden box to fit around the battery, bolt that down then use some threaded rod into the wood, either a piece of wood or scrap metal across the top, then some bolts on the threaded rod to hold it down Quote Current Systems: 2011 BMW 335i Hertz HDP1 DC LVL3 12" Full Carbon Fiber 2002 Acura TlKenwood DNX9980HD2 DCLVL4 12" Subs with LVL5 Parts D.7 CoilsDC 3.5kHertz HSK-165 up front HCX-165 RearHertz HDP4 AmpDC Power Engineering 260 Amp AltBig 3 and amp powered with KNU 1/0XS Power D2400 Up Front i pulled out my dick in class many of times and had it shown. get over it bitch...stupid open legged hairy beavered bitch... going over rms = smaller box, under rms = bigger box...
