SnowDrifter
Vehicle is a 2010 wrangler. The alternator voltage is controlled via PCM and currently charges at 14v. Does anyone know how to 'fool' it into charging at a higher voltage? Or am I stuck with whatever it deems the charging voltage should be? kickass audio
here is their site: http://www.missinglinkaudio.com/id24.html The MLA will set off the check engine light on most applications so just a heads up but it will run just fine. Meade had a MLA before he got the xs power VCM for his tahoe and his MLA made the check engine light come on and stay on, the xs power VCM had corrected his check engine light. Mha
My trucks also got a pcm mechman 270. I get it charges at a lower voltage like 13V right? But whats it mean realy? At 14+v it will charge my batterys faster right? But at 13 it will still charge just over more time? How much more anyone wana take the time to explain it to me plz. Im runing a dc.5k and.a hifonics 150w@4 ch for highs . For batterys I have a stock and a d3400 under the hood. And just got my 2 xp3000. crunkjuice1
If your mechman alt has a AVBM harness and you set the pot to a certain voltage I think it is tricking the PCM? Theres a 1 volt difference so naturally it would charge a bit faster. I would just do without the stock battery if it isn't a agm battery also. about the check engine light I'm at a loss on that at the moment. I would rather not "fool" the PCM and just let it do what it wants to do naturally. this is where I'm stuck at personally.
