There is heavy gauge angled steel under that fiberglass in the middle, bolted to the car. Supporting straps in the rear. These wouldn't be very effective on their own, but are good insurance with the other attachment points. There is more metal strapping bolted to the seatbelt bolts on the bottom. And the front of the floor pieces are attached to the car with multiple machine screws. SMD Super Seller My Feedback Thread

sprkn_ranger Posted April 18, 2012 Report Posted April 18, 2012 The box is DEFINITLEY not going anywhere...if he gets in an accident bad enough to dislodge that thing the box hitting him in the back of his head is the least of his worries. The subs will rip out of the baffle before the box moves I'd bet. I'd double up the baffle first and then make the beauty panel. I think it would be easier that way. stunt_az Posted April 18, 2012 Report Posted April 18, 2012 It's all good. I did, too. So, it turns out attaching the port to the top is not a one-man job. Its just way too awkward, 34.5"x17.5" mdf is a bit heavy to hold in place while trying to center the screws in the brackets. I just read through this, and I have to say your guy does nice work, and that stang is bad a** My guy? Which one? LOL I do a lot of the work myself, but there are a few guys that have helped me out big time. Blue, sprkn_ranger, AI Ray, Tim at Audiotistics, and baron_of_bass have all done a ton for me.
