Confessed Posted March 13, 2012 Report Posted March 13, 2012 Skar VVX12 D4 wired to 2ohms Soundstream Rubicon 1600w Kenwood Excelon KDC-X395 When I go to set my gain with a 50hz tone playing, I see very low voltage even when the gain is up higher than it should be. Gain up almost all the way and I'm not even seeing 500w. Subsonic is set to about 25, lpf at about 80. No bass boost. Battery voltage lowest drop I've seen is 14.0. Subwoofer lvl on the headunit is at max as it should be. Volume set to ~27 out of 35 max. Knu 4ga power and ground. The input voltage selector is at 2-8v instead of .1-2v because of my 4v preouts. I'm assuming this is how it should be. Help me out, guys!

You literally have to use it it get output more than like 70watts lmao. What car do you have? Is this with the car on or off? My grounds are all fine. And 1100w at 2ohms sounds good to me. I don't plan on running it at more than 800w though. I was told that this is one of the better ~1500w amps if you can get it for ~$170 or so, which I did.

Except its completely inaccurate and is onyl used be people to cheap to understand a clamp meter is needed. Also by a bunch of people who claim to know what they are doing. Face it you need a clamp to know how much power you are getting. I wouldn't have your sub level on your headunit maxed out, causes a bad signal. his HU doesnt clip even at full volume with sub level all the way up, my buddy has the same one and owns a DD-1, only time it clips is full volume with sub level maxed out and bass setting hits +2. on the kenwoods the subw setting being maxed is only way to get full preout voltage OP, could it perhaps be out of phased? wired backwords? most of the time it can cause a setup to be less effective. IMO, i'd throw the DMM away and set your gains by ear.. its a small power setup so youd be able to get away with it i think. ive noticed since ive had my 9887, every amp i threw on it liked the gains roughly around 2/3 or so, which is also a 4v preout. aim for that and see what it gets you one other thing, what type of box and specs are you using?
