Jared420
Zigs are real nice and can be had on sale under 100 but I got a pair of under armors a month or two ago on sale from 80 to 50 and they are really light and comfortable good support but really flexible like Nate said a lot of running shoes now are geared towards feeling like you are barefoot. TeamHT
I have flat feet, so running (which I love to do) always hurt my feet. Until I bought a pair of simple gel aesics. I can't explain the difference from using zigtechs and nu balances and then aesics. I run almost 5 days a week and hike in the summer time and they won't last long. But I buy a pair every 6-8 months Quote Tell me...does this smell like chloroform to you?
nautical7
Go to a shoe store that specializes in helping you choose a good shoe for you if you can. Unless you try them on you really can't judge how they're going to feel.
JEMT8
I settled for a pair of Nike relentless stealths. They didn't have my size in the zigs so that was the next shoe I liked. The price was decent and I'm not sure I this is even something I will stick with lol if I do stick with running I may just get a better pair further down the road. I will be tryig them out tommorow morning. The only shoes I have ever ran in were skate shoe and work boots a few times (long story) so I'm sure there will feel a ton better. They are really light and seem pretty sturdy. Thanks for all the suggestions guys Quote formerly known as Jaylor Swift
corey0928
Go in to a running shop. We have Hanson's here. They let you run around outside to see if you like the shoes. Don't be cheap either. When i ran track i spent about $150 on each pair i bought. I still use them today and that was 5-6 years ago. They won't get beat up if you just run with them. If he sticks with it then I'd recommend getting a good shoe for running, but if he's not sure then a cheaper pair will be alright for getting into it. Start slow to avoid injuries and if you get shin splints don't try and run through that, take it easy until it's healed. Running through that pain could make it worse and turn into a hairline fracture. Just know your limits and work your way up.
