Dakota Sapinsky
JL amps are under rated, JL subs are over rated. I just blew a 12w7 with a jl HD 750/1. How is that even possible, this is supposedly a 1000 watt sub. The owners manual calls for a 60 amp fuse, i put in an 80, and still popped it, now the subs fried. what the hell. Last time i ever buy a 12w7. But these HD amps are crazy strong & efficient. EDIT UPDATE: I will add that yes, i had voltage drop alot, not so much clipping, but i also think that it was tuned to high, playing freq too high that it wasent ment to play. DRCinc
check your setup for clipping. just be glad that your amp didnt decide it had enough and give out. no way can a 750/1 overpower a W6
Bmike
could be several things that caused it to blow. clipping, voltage drop, improper box. it would be best to figure it out befor you invest in another sub befor it happens again. 2007 trailblazer lthead unit- pioneer p4300dvd crescendo ft-1 supertweeters pioneer m650 pros audiocontrol 2xs crossover Rockford fosgate p200-2 highsrockford fosgate p400-2 mids1- fi btl 18amps- saz 3500battery- evermax in front, 2 9a31 dekas in rearwires all knuconceptz 1/0 and rcas

Dakota Sapinsky
why did you put an 80 amp fuse in? just curious. Just because i cant stand popping fuses all the time, so i go a little extra. I poped two 80s on it playing music, so this amp must be pushing out more then it claims. zxsonnyxz
Most likely YOU adjusted/set up your system wrong, and hats not JLs fault. Edit: be happy it's the fuses that blow. And fuses that keep popping is a good indicator for a fault in your setup.
