I don't have anything I could cut it down to size with.. yeah a threaded rod. just use a hack saw lol Oh I didn't know you could do that. I DID have a hack saw until about halfway through this hockey season. I had it in my bag to cut sticks on road trips and the blade broke lol. Get a new blade for like 3 bucks! I couldnt believe what a hack saw could do until I cut through 1/2 inch metal. Took a few minutes but wow good stuff I'll have to try that when I rebuild. It's all glassed and bondo'd in I can't do much about it now. The dowel rod is pretty sturdy too but probably not as sturdy as steel. yeah for sure your box is sturdy as fuck! Just curious cuz it looks like maybe fiberglass and foam. Once i spent a few hours cutting out curved inserts from 3/4 mdf for the port. In the end there was about 30 pieces and then I still had to sand them, it took forever. haha

In the end there was about 30 pieces and then I still had to sand them, it took forever. haha I cut 8 inch diameter concrete former into quarters then screwed it to the box, filled behind it with great atuff, then glassed over it, sanded, and then put bondo over it. Craig28 Posted April 2, 2012 Author Report Posted April 2, 2012 Finished box construction, for the most part. I'm trying to decide whether to resin the outside edges where I didn't fiberglass on the inside. For now I just went over the inside and outside of each edge with some silicon caulk. I tried to wire it up and test it briefly today... Amp lit up and the fan came on, but no sound. I had it wired at 2.8. Each coil tested at 1.4 and I was able to get readings from the amp's outputs with a DMM, so idk whats up. I need to decide what to do with the outside. Paint, rhino-line it, what? Help me out fellas. Also, the ports aren't permanent like that. They will be cut down to burp length and not permanently affixed until the box is in the trunk. I'm trying to find some flares for them too. Here's a pic of the box. Also, I bought some triple inputs for Stetsom amps today from a guy off of CACO. Solid copper they look pretty sweet. Hopefully I can get a job this week so I can get a loan to finish the rest of the build. The triple inputs. I don't remember exactly from the amp but it was around 180, I had it turned to voltage.
