teardrop
ok so how do you wire 5 2 or 4 ohm dvc subs to a 1 ohm or 2 ohm load i know that all your subs need to be the same ohm voice coils but should i use all 4 ohm dvc or all 2 ohm dvc to get a 1 ohm load or a two ohm load two run on 1 single amp or 2 straped amps
Joe X
To 1.6 ohm DVC 4 ohm coils in series and all subs in parallel. If that's any help.
john253a
series sub parallel amp 5x 4dvc (8*8 )/(8+8 )=4 (4*8 )/(4+8 )=2.666 (2.666*8 )/(2.66+8 )=2 (2*8 )/(2+8 )=1.66 6 subs would be (1.6*8 )/(1.6+8 )=1.333 http://www.rockfordf...=4&woofer_imp=4 any reason why you are choosing 5 subs, instead of 4 or 6 even numbers give you more wiring choices

teardrop
so 5 4 ohm subs would be 1.6 ohm final load would that be ok on two amps strapped or better on a single amp
Joe X
Definitely strapped if possible (strapped sundowns will laugh at 1.6 ohm + box rise), as long as you don't get overheating i wouldn't worry. Make sure that your electrical can keep up.
