teardrop
what tone do you use to clamp test amps? i tested my sk800.1 today and i only got a reading of 634 whats at .9 ohms at 30 hz what am i doing wrong because that sounds low to me
528hz
I always use a 50 hz tone. The higher the frequency, the "harder" your amp is working. A 50 hz is a good realistic frequency to assume daily...
teardrop
well at 40 hz it says its only doing 243 watt @ 4 ohms Edited April 10, 2012 by teardrop

Ray
The lower the tone the more power it will make. I do 25-50 then avg Quote 2008 California state record holder 157.2 Bassrace2009 California state record holder 157.0 BassraceRollin 50's 158.7db2009 King of Cali Bassrace2009 USACi score 160.5 @ 42hz
Team_DC-Derrick
whatever your peak is in the vehicle, run a sweep not at full tilt..., have the TL set on peak hold, whatever your highest DB is at the frequency it shows, test at that one.. and generally go 1 hz below, and above it to see if it is a big difference when testing, same volume for each test though between the 3 frequencys Quote The DC Integra 3 18s to 6 15 build log Team_DC-Derrick's Youtube Team DC Audio where theres a will theres a wall....... audiofanaticz
mostly when I clamp power from my amps Im clamping to see what kind of power im making at my peak burp frequency to test some things and change them if need be to see an increase of power or termlab score. If i just randomly clamp usually between 30-40hz or which ever seems to be the louder freq to the ear if no meter is used.
