Best Subs For the lowsss 15" to be exact

Recommended Posts

Ok so right now i have a AQHDC3 15 and it hits the lows Quite well talking (25hz-35hz) but people tell me they are not the best drivers for that low.

So in my next build i plan on doing 2 15" woofers off of 3.5k in a 8-10 cube box tuned around 30 hz

What subs would you guys suggest that will be able to take the power and not heat up on the lows.

Would 2 HDC3s work or should i try something else thanks. all opinions welcomed!!! :)

2 HDC3's would love 3.5k. personally when i had HDC3 12s it hit lows aweosme! at least in my opinion. I had an AQ2200 on one HDC3 12 for a while. so if you send them unclipped power they can take 2krms. as far as hitting the lows who told you they wernt the best for hittin glows? i mean there are better speakers IMO but AQ HDC3 are still awesome. if you tune around 32hz which i wouldnt go much below and feed them 3.5-4k to 2 HDC3 15s im sure you will be happy.

you answered your own question... and the thing about the hd3's is they dont have to be tuned super low to play down there..

This isn't teeball. YOU DO NOT GET A TROPHY JUST BECAUSE YOU SHOW UP. Put the work in and then maybe get the respect when it has been earned

151.6 with single 12 at 41 hz

153.2 with 2 12's at 43 hz

lol yeah i think i will stay true with AQ. and this set up will be going in a Jetta wagon and i just want to move some air. i love slowed songs so i need the lows. my single HDC3 is in a 4 cube box tuned to 35Hz and it pretty nasty right now. i think i will do 2 hdc3s on a 3.5k tuned around 32-34Hz at 8\9 ish cubes

For sure, they are not the best subs on earth but they ae cheap. Keep your sub if you like it. And get a second one.

But I don't think you need to tune so low. AQ recommend 36 Hz IIRC.

That is a lot of power for those subs. They can handle that, but is it really necessary ? I don't really know.

Focus more on the box than on power. It will be more efficient.

black BMW X1 2.0 l 192 hp

OEM head unit, Amplifiers Audison AP 8.9 amp with integrated DSP and Ampere Audio 1200.

Focal ES 100 K in front doors, and Dayton RS 180 for midbass under the front seats.

2 SSA DEMONS 10" subs, in a 2.6 ft3  ported box. SecondSkin Damplifier on front doors, and Luxury Liner Pro for the cargo area.

Yeah i will for sure make a excellent box. and who know i might tune it to 35-36 again. and at first i will power them of a 1600 for the pair to break them in.

So for this wagon i want to do subs up port back and maby make it a bottom port. and the box will be reinforce and fiberglassed.
