Sethorama Posted April 14, 2012 Report Share Posted April 14, 2012 I own 2 AQ 1200 I have them currently strapped. Is the clipping light on them accurate? I had a friend of mine tuned my amp with a dd1. and the indicator still shows clipping but the dd1 was set up properly. It only clips when my voltage drops a little. My current set up is. 2 AQ 1200's Strapped 2 AQ HDC3-15's 300 AMP Irraggi alternator 1/0 KNU CCA 1 run of + Ground to seatbelt bolt. Big 3 in KNU CCA With my setup it doesnt drop below 12v But its showing clipping. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Trust your tools my friend Edit- oh and you should relocate your ground from the seatbelt bolt to a strut tower or the chassis. Rebel4055 Posted April 14, 2012 Report Share Posted April 14, 2012 I believe the clipping indicator is on a rail? I believe. So if you voltage drops a little it kicks that light on If I recall. 727Designs Posted April 14, 2012 Report Share Posted April 14, 2012 Next time you could use the search feature and save some time... but here it is in a nutshell: The clip light has a set rail voltage to trigger the light, when set voltage is met the light will flash. Amp may or may not actually be clipping at that point. Trust the DD-1/o-scope/etc and enjoy it.
