That seems outrageous already. If you get a DEI alarm, install is included in price. Going DEI will save you money.

Is it something that you can do on your own properly? If you can, then yes...that price is outrageous. IF NOT, then it sits alright.

Thats how shops make a living. If you know how to do it yourself you will save a lot of money. But if you're guessing while doing it, it can easily come back to haunt you if you did something wrong.

Vehicle is 1999 Camry XLE v6 automatic with a stock Clifford 2 button alarm from 1999.

I would install it myself but I'd rather have a pro do it for this one.

Im going to try and get a quote from a more reputiable local shop that specializes on BMW's that carry Clifford's. I don't mind the pricing as long as the install is clean and the alarm has alot of useful functions.

The above quote is from a shop that only carries compustar.

What other features should I look into an alarm? In car strobbing lights?

I think thats a pretty good price. Compustar makes some great setups... Plus if you have the shop do it and something goes screwy then it should be cover under warranty and they should fix the issue

I should find out about warranty. One of the shops specializes in car audio and only have 1 experienced alarm installer. Speaking of warranty, my brother got his alarm installed for his truck by bestbuy for over $600 and the thing shorted out and smoke came put the engine bay. He Had one that fixed but a year later the whole alarm just stopped working.
