mrd6 Posted October 28, 2013 Author Report Posted October 28, 2013 Dude, how did you jump two db? That's an awesome gain! Haha believe it or not I decided to wire down on the DD after seeing the success you had. Running at .25 FTW! Btw, I thought you were going to be at Soundwerks on the 20th, what happened? I really like the vinyl wrapped doors and pillars gives it that factory look. Thank you sir, thats what I was going for. I wanted it to look well integrated but still pop out at you like "there's something serious going on here." damnnnn bro.....score is nuts Couldn't be happier! Not bad for 2 18s and a 5k musical build lol what subs are you switching to now I had been keeping it a secret to surprise all the local guys, but last weekend I kinda spilled the beans so I'll post up pics of the new subs tonight with some more details on the rebuild plans. Stay tuned! My Build Log: http://www.stevemead...-sundown-power/ Team NorthWestSPL
mrd6 Posted October 29, 2013 Author Report Posted October 29, 2013 Nothing against DC, these old XLs have served me well and I'm still running DC in other cars. But, when planning this rebuild, none of DCs subs seemed to spec out well for me. So im jumping off the bandwagon lol and here are the new subs. Sundown zv4 15s! For some reason I like this view haha These things are monstrous! Comparison with a DC lvl 3 12 I had sitting around...its a bit dusty So, as I said earlier, I am keeping the same shell and loading wall for the rebuild. But, I am switching out the insides. I need to remove the old enclosures from the shell and really take the time to smooth everything else all out with body filler and make it perfect. Then, i'll be building in a new baffle to run 4 - zv4 15s (have three of them already so just need to order the last one). It will still be a 6th order and with the things i've learned about 6ths and my car from these past builds, I have very high hopes. It will still be a completely musical build that can sustain a 155+ on music easy. But both the front and rear ports will be removable so with enough time and effort, I don't think burping a 160 sealed up is completely out of the question...I have some ideas. Power still needs to be finalized and I will be running everything off the DD ZSE initially. But, I would like to be running all crossfire amps and I have heard rumors that they may be coming out with a new 3k...I could very easily see running 4 of those 3ks, one to each zv4 at .5 I'll have some more work to do on the electrical to run the full power I want, so some serious custom work to get more alt power as well as some supercaps will need to happen sometime this season. But thats down the list a ways, for Autorama I plan to have the enclosure completely redone at minimum. New amps would be nice but its really still too early to say. And uh, I guess that's it....i'm freakin excited! So, i'll leave this with a picture of an angry Ryan Moss! Err, I mean T-rex! lololol my brother drew it for me a few years ago, its hanging in my garage now for motivation haha My Build Log: http://www.stevemead...-sundown-power/ Team NorthWestSPL

nocturnalrites101 Posted October 29, 2013 Report Posted October 29, 2013 of you were planning on running 4 3ks why not just run the xs8k it puts out 10-12 at not extreme voltages and will prolly save you money in the long run

I was hoping to give you a demo before I ripped it out! of you were planning on running 4 3ks why not just run the xs8k it puts out 10-12 at not extreme voltages and will prolly save you money in the long run I had considered that as an option too but 4 3ks at .5 each is going to give me way more power than a single 10k at .5. We will see though, nothing is set in stone. shit. adv 2 is about to get interesting in the northwest!!! looks like im gonna need that 57 sealed now No kidding haha, put that other brace in and move back to Ultimate! Then I would just have Henke to worry about... My Build Log: http://www.stevemead...-sundown-power/ Team NorthWestSPL
