RooTxBeeR Posted April 20, 2012 Report Posted April 20, 2012 I was watching Parking Wars on TV, and it made me think of all the stories I have been told in the past about cars that got impounded locally and the system had been stolen or tampered with. I am glad I am on here and have a updated build log, also will always keep it updated. So if one day that does happen to me, I will have proof of what was in my car and how I had it. Also since I am on the subject, has anyone seen/heard or have personal experiences in what I am talking about with impounded cars having been stuff taken out of or tampered with? My insurance agent told me to keep updated time-stamped pictures of my audio install. She told me the part that was important to photograph was how the equipment was secured to the vehicle, screws, bolts, etc... Also, save whatever receipts you can get your hands on, whether it be from a dealer or paypal. Been thinking about getting a cheap Kodak with timestamps on the pictures just for that purpose when I go with my bigger build. Not trying to thread jack, but anyone ever thought about a camera that activates when doors are unlocked, open, etc. and records whoever was in your car? Would be a nice idea. Maybe set it up to connect to any available wireless network and download the updated video, just incase, you never know... Anyways, not a bad idea. :thumbsup: POTATO!

The recording part, probably not, cameras can be found for cheap, just trying to design a computer system that stores video and doesn't guzzle energy, plus be able to sync up via internet, would be the difficult part. Although someone with some coding experience with Linux would probably be up to the task. Hardware wouldn't be an issue. If I knew anything about how to code, I would do it myself POTATO!
