Buying a New laptop tonight Need help choosing

That's a solid laptop, but the G Series is loud and has no battery life while doing anything beyond web surfing. If anything on it breaks Asus will not let you down in the warranty department either, although their turnaround is a little slow since they are overseas.

i sold my laptop for an ipad 3.

took EXTREME care of the battery. day one, lasted about hour 30 mins, a year later, still about an hour 20.

even with the brightness all the way down.

the one thing about laptops now is, they cram hardcore GPUs in there that rape battery life, but dont make the battery any bigger.

dont need dedicated graphics, and i can easily say you dont want dedicated graphics, especially if all your going to do is web browse, and email check.

Here is what you want, nothing better for the money, this company makes laptops for Asus and most companies offering 'gaming' notebooks etc.

going with an actual "laptop" you wont be getting that :]

i dont know why all these guys are posting top of the line GAMING laptops for someone who has stated he doesnt game over 3 times now.

if you buy any laptop with dedicated graphics, "long battery life" is about an hour 30, if your LUCKY. then the battery depreciates, so after about a year, theres like a 35% chance the battery will fail, and you will be tied to a wall outlet.

now spending 50-70 bucks a year on replacement batteries is complete shit in my opinion.

ultrabook or a tablet. for battery life and performance for what you said you want to do.

but if you want absolutely minimum battery life and tons of performance where you dont need it, then by all means, spend 10 grand on a laptop for no reason.

theres plenty of information in this thread for you to choose now. and theres plenty of "know it alls" who have posted helpful information, and very awful information.

decked out a y480. I couldn't justify anything else for the price. $1049 total shipped. I'm on a thin line at work. After I get licensed I'll be making more and be able to upgrade later.
